About the plant
Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Mi Oya' occurs naturally only in the Mi Oya River in Sri Lanka. Its distinctive, slightly hammered leaves grow to around 20–35 cm long and form rosettes 15–30 cm wide. The reddish-brown colour and substantial leaf texture give it a mature, natural look in the midground. In the wild, this variety grows in streams where temperatures exceed 30 °C, so it does well in warm aquariums.
Planting and care
Plant in nutrient-rich substrate and give the rosette ample space. Allow it to establish without frequent moves.
