Perfect Roots for Aquariums

Here you’ll find answers to common questions about our Tuskwood aquarium roots and aquascaping products.

What is Tuskwood and how is it Used in Aquariums?

Tuskwood consists of mineralized roots from smaller trees used in aquascaping, aquariums, biotope aquariums, terrariums, and paludariums.

How Do I Prepare the Roots before Use?

Rinse and brush the roots thoroughly with plain water. For aquarium use, you can either glue the roots to stone or glass to make them sink immediately, or alternatively, place the root in regular tap water for a few days with a weight on top to allow it to sink on its own.

Is Tuskwood Safe for all Types of Aquarium Fish?

Yes, our roots are safe and do not negatively affect water quality. On the contrary, Tuskwood often has a positive effect on water quality and fish health. Fish originating from South America such as Discus and Angelfish, Ancistrus, and many others thrive especially well with Tuskwood.

Can I Use Tuskwood in Terrariums as Well?

Absolutely, Tuskwood is ideal for both aquariums and terrariums due to its durability and aesthetics.
