Welcome to the Tuskwood.com. Tuskwood is run by me, Joel Andersson. I have spent many years in aquarium and aquascaping, and my biggest passion is to create beautiful hardscapes.
We specialize in offering nature's own works of art: mineralized wood, Bogwood.

Our history and vision

One day I was walking my dog across a local bog, and wondered about the roots coming up, thinking they were quite similar to the tropical roots I had sometimes bought for my aquarium. I contacted various landowners who practice nature farming, and yes, when nature farming on the bog, a limited number of ancient roots come up every year from the depths of the bog. I also learned that the aquarium hobby has a long tradition of using these bogwood roots in aquascaping. When we first came to the bog, we could see that many roots were broken, crushed, fractured or otherwise unsuitable for aquascaping, but, we have had the privilege to regularly enter the relevant peat bogs, and select the best that comes up. Nowadays we have exclusive agreements with all relevant landowners in Sweden, i.e. anyone who has the opportunity to bring up high quality roots regularly. We have done many tests with the roots in different aquariums and sold many via Tradera where we have many satisfied customers and five star ratings. We felt ready for the next level, our own webshop, which we launched in December 2025.
With local collection, sorting, cutting, storage and packing, we reduce transportation of wood to the aquarium from countries in the Far East and Africa, thus reducing the environmental impact, Tuskwood is simply a very sustainable choice. Our ambition is to contribute to society by keeping all operations local and creating local jobs, especially for vulnerable people far from the labor market, in Sweden's economically vulnerable rural areas. By cutting out the middlemen and selling directly to customers and stores via the Internet without wholesalers, we will eventually be able to achieve profitability despite the cost situation in Sweden. So far, Tuskwood is very small, a hobby, and a dream of a better aquascaping wood from Europe for Europe, an aquascaping wood that carries an incredible story and gives a unique story to each aquarium that it becomes part of, a dream that is very slowly and carefully becoming a reality.
