About the plant
Marsilea minuta is a small Asian fern that often grows in rice fields. Its very small leaves are rarely more than half a centimetre wide and form a fine, well-anchored carpet only 1–3 cm high. The species tolerates both lower light and high temperatures, but develops noticeably better as conditions improve. Its discreet leaf form is particularly suited to small-scale aquascapes.
Planting and care
Plant small groups with space between them so the runners can grow together. Even light, nutrition and stable conditions create a denser, more even carpet.
