About the plant
Limnophila sessiliflora is a beautiful, undemanding stem plant from South-East Asia. Its soft, finely divided leaves create a lush character reminiscent of Cabomba, but the plant manages with less light. The stems grow quickly and can reach around 40 cm high, making the species useful as a full background or as fast-growing support in a newly set-up aquarium. In good conditions it also forms runners and can spread across the bottom.
Planting and care
Plant several stems together but leave room for light between them. Low light can cause sparse, elongated growth; better light and added CO2 help the plant become denser. Trim the tops and replant them when the group needs rejuvenating.
