About the plant
Staurogyne repens is a hardy, compact plant from the Rio Cristalino in the southern Amazon. It is closely related to Hygrophila but differs through its low, distinctly bushy habit and small fresh-green leaves. The plant reaches around 5–10 cm high and is excellent between stones, along roots or as a structured foreground group. When upright tops are removed, the base develops new creeping shoots that gradually spread over the gravel.
Planting and care
Remove the longest upright shoots at planting to stimulate low, horizontal growth. Provide good light, steady nutrition and added CO2 for abundant branching, and trim the group when it needs to remain compact.
