About the plant
Rotala rotundifolia is a South-East Asian stem plant whose underwater leaves are long and narrow despite its name. The stems grow around 15–30 cm high and readily form side shoots, so a small planting quickly develops into a dense, bushy group. The species is less demanding than many other Rotala and provides fine background structure. In good light, the tops develop warm red tones that create depth and colour contrast.
Planting and care
Trim regularly so light reaches the lower leaves, and replant healthy top shoots to rejuvenate the group. Good light is important for red colour and compact growth.
