About the plant
Echinodorus cordifolius 'Fluitans' is a relatively fast-growing sword plant from Mexico. Its rosette grows about 15–30 cm wide, and its leaves reach 20–50 cm long, making it a full-bodied choice for larger aquariums. The wavy, light-green leaves create a soft, decorative look. Unlike several other round-leaved forms of this species, its leaves tend to stay just below the surface rather than continuing to grow out of the water.
Planting and care
Plant it in nutrient-rich substrate and leave plenty of space around the rosette. Remove older outer leaves when needed to keep the plant open and well-shaped.
