About the plant
Microsorum pteropus and Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia are established together on a large mangrove root. The Java fern's narrow, upright leaves meet the Anubias's broad heart-shaped leaves, creating varied yet harmonious greenery. Both plants are long-lived, hardy and slow-growing, making the combination easy to care for and suitable for many types of aquarium. Black dots beneath the Microsorum leaves are sporangia, meaning reproductive organs, and not a disease.
Planting and care
Place the root in the midground and avoid covering the plants' rhizomes with substrate. Remove older leaves as needed. Java fern can be divided at the rhizome and also produces plantlets on its leaves.
