About the plant

Bacopa salzmannii 'Purple' is a colourful stem plant from the wetlands of South America. The leaves vary between green and purple and can create a deep, exotic contrast against light green plants. Its moderate growth makes the group easy to shape and use in both the midground and background. Given good conditions, it becomes a distinct splash of colour without requiring the same pruning frequency as the fastest stem plants.

Planting and care

Plant in nutrient-rich substrate and provide medium-strong to strong light for a clearer purple colour. Regular fertilisation and added CO2 improve growth and colour depth. Propagate using top cuttings.
