About the plant
Cryptocoryne parva from Sri Lanka is the smallest of all Cryptocoryne, reaching only around 3–6 cm high with a rosette less than 5–8 cm wide. Unlike many relatives, it retains roughly the same leaf shape and colour in different conditions. Its slow, low growth makes it an unusually stable foreground plant that can gradually form a continuous green group. It often takes around six months for a newly planted area to grow together.
Planting and care
Plant small plants a few centimetres apart and keep them completely unshaded. The species needs more light than most Cryptocoryne; root fertilisation helps its slow establishment.
