About the plant
Vallisneria americana 'Natans' is an easy-care Asian background plant for both beginners and more established aquariums. Its fine, approximately 1 cm wide leaves grow 50–100 cm long but allow more light through than broad-leaved Vallisneria forms. The plant spreads readily by runners and can, over time, create a natural, sweeping background without visually dominating the entire aquarium.
Planting and care
Remove the anchor and plant the plants with a little space between them without covering the growing point. Allow the runners to fill the desired area and thin out or move new plants when the group becomes too dense.
