About the plant
Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini' is a miniature form of the well-known red Alternanthera. It grows more slowly and much more compactly than larger varieties, making it especially useful in nano aquariums or as a colourful foreground plant in a larger aquascape. With careful trimming, the plants can grow together into a dense red-violet carpet about 5–10 cm tall. Its intense colour creates a strong contrast with green carpeting plants, stone and dark roots.
Planting and care
Give the plant strong light, steady nutrition and added CO2 for the densest growth and best colour. Trim carefully and frequently to keep the group low and continuous.
