About the plant
Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia is a particularly beautiful variety with distinctly heart-shaped leaves. It was developed in an Australian plant-propagation laboratory and grows slowly but with great endurance. As each leaf lives for several years, an established plant can gradually form a large, full group; specimens exceeding 50 cm in width after a few years are not unusual. Its substantial form works as a calm, long-lived focal point in the midground.
Planting and care
Attach the rhizome to stone or wood, or plant the roots in substrate without covering the rhizome. A more shaded position is a good choice; remove older leaves if algae take hold on the slow-growing plant.
