About the plant
Anubias barteri var. barteri is an undemanding West African plant that grows larger than the well-known nana form. The plant reaches around 25–45 cm and its creeping rhizome can grow to 10–15 cm or longer. Size and leaf shape vary, giving each established plant a natural character. Its robust leaves are normally left alone by herbivorous fish, and the species can also be used in terrariums and paludariums.
Planting and care
Place the plant in shade to reduce algae growth on its long-lived leaves. Attach the rhizome to hardscape or plant only the roots; the rhizome must never be covered by substrate.
