About the plant
Aponogeton madagascariensis is the distinctive Madagascan lace plant, whose leaves consist of a decorative network of leaf veins. It is grown as a botanical speciality and is available in several forms with different leaf widths and network structures. The plant grows to approximately 25–50 cm and should stand alone where the unusual architecture of its leaves has room to shine. It is a sensitive species with high demands on both water quality and the substrate environment, making it best suited to the experienced grower with a spacious specialist aquarium.
Planting and care
Plant the bulb so that the shoot tip sits at the substrate surface. Provide clean, stable water with regular water changes and nutrients at the roots. Avoid major fluctuations and monitor the plant's development closely.
