About the plant
Echinodorus 'Red Diamond' originated in cultivation in Ukraine and is thought to be a cross between Echinodorus horemanii 'Red' and Echinodorus 'Barthii'. Its 15–25 cm long, sword-shaped leaves develop an attractive ruby-red colour. The rosette remains around 20–30 cm wide, making it suitable as a solitary focal point even in smaller aquariums. Its compact form adds plenty of colour without taking over the entire layout.
Planting and care
Plant in nutrient-rich substrate and provide good light for a strong ruby-red colour. More generous root fertilisation and added CO2 promote a denser, more vigorous rosette.
