About the plant
Hygrophila corymbosa 'Compact' is a very dense variety with leaves set close to the stem and many side shoots that reinforce its bushy form. On delivery, the leaves may be dark brownish green, but after adapting underwater they become light green with a silvery-white underside. In strong light, the newest leaves may develop reddish-brown tones. Its compact form makes this cultivar useful in the midground, where ordinary Hygrophila easily becomes too tall.
Planting and care
Provide sufficient light to prevent older leaves from dying off. Trim regularly to reinforce the dense form; new side shoots often replace older parts of the plant.
