About the plant
Hygrophila polysperma comes from South-East Asia and is one of the hardiest aquarium plants available. Its stems grow to around 25–40 cm high and 4–8 cm wide in almost all normal aquarium conditions. Rapid growth quickly creates a lush background and makes it especially popular with beginners. Leaf shape and colour vary with the light, and leaves at the surface can develop small new plantlets.
Planting and care
Plant several stems with a little space between them and pinch out the tops regularly so the group branches without crowding out other plants. Replant healthy top shoots where more volume is needed.
