About the plant
Limnophila sessiliflora is a beautiful, undemanding stem plant from South-East Asia. Its soft, finely divided leaves create a lush character reminiscent of Cabomba, but without the same high light requirement. The stems grow quickly and can reach around 40 cm high, making the plant useful as a background and as fast-growing support in a newly set-up aquarium. In good conditions it forms runners and can spread across the bottom.
Planting and care
Plant several stems together with a little air between them. Low light can cause sparse, elongated growth; better light and added CO2 help the group become denser. Cut off the tops and replant them to rejuvenate the stand.
