About the plant
Marsilea hirsuta is an Australian carpeting plant often supplied with leaves resembling four-leaf clovers. After an adjustment period underwater, it develops several possible leaf forms: simple low leaves or two-, three- and four-lobed leaves around 2–10 cm tall. Its appearance changes with growing conditions, giving the carpet lively, natural variation. Whatever the form, it spreads by runners and can quickly cover the bottom.
Planting and care
Divide the plant into smaller portions and give the runners room to spread. Remove tall, older leaves if you want to encourage a lower, more even look.
