About the plant
Micranthemum umbrosum is an attractive North American stem plant with small round leaves. Its slender stems grow about 10–25 cm long and 1–2 cm wide and suit both small and large aquariums. Once established, the plant grows quickly and a group of many stems creates a soft, light-green volume. It requires a relatively high light level to retain its refined appearance.
Planting and care
Provide good light and added CO2 for stable growth. Pinch back the shoots frequently once the group starts growing strongly, and replant the tops as cuttings to build a denser stand.
