About the plant
Pogostemon helferi was discovered in Thailand near the Myanmar border and is called Downoi there, meaning little star. The name suits its dense rosettes of strongly crinkled, bright-green leaves. The plant grows around 5–10 cm high and wide, giving the foreground an unusual, sculptural structure. In good conditions it forms many side shoots that gradually grow together into an effective carpet.
Planting and care
Plant small portions in nutrient-rich substrate and provide good light. Steady nutrition and added CO2 help the plant remain compact and develop many rooted side shoots.
