About the plant
Riccia fluitans is a cosmopolitan liverwort traditionally used floating, where it provides good shelter for fry. It can also be tied to stone and kept submerged as a light-green carpet around 1–5 cm high. New shoots continually seek the surface, so the plant is best suited to layouts whose form can be managed with regular trimming.
Planting and care
Attach the moss with fine line if it is to grow underwater, and trim shoots that come loose or grow upwards. It develops best with added CO2 and may then form small visible oxygen bubbles on its shoot tips.
