About the plant
Ceratopteris thalictroides is a pantropical fern that grows around 15–30 cm high and 10–20 cm wide. Its finely divided leaves provide a clear contrast to broad-leaved plants. In good light it grows quickly, uses plenty of nutrients and can therefore help counter algae in a newly set-up aquarium. In small open aquariums it can grow above the surface and form attractive emergent leaves.
Planting and care
Give the plant good light and sufficient nutrition. CO2 may be needed to stimulate growth, especially if it remains still after planting.
