About the plant
Rotala rotundifolia 'H'ra' has narrower leaves and a more arching or creeping growth habit than many other Rotala varieties. In the right conditions, it develops a warm, rich orange colour and can be shaped into a dense cushion in the midground. Its creeping habit also makes it possible to create an unusual orange foreground carpet. The variety is thought to be a form of Rotala rotundifolia and resembles Rotala 'Green' in shape.
Planting and care
Provide strong light, even fertilisation and added CO2 for warm orange colour and clearly creeping growth. Trim frequently and replant the tops to form a continuous cushion.
