About the plant
Sagittaria subulata is a hardy South American rosette plant whose short runners can quickly create a compact group. It is often used in the foreground or midground and brings a soft, grass-like character. The plant can surprise by suddenly developing leaves up to 50 cm long in certain conditions; if then moved further back, it may begin growing lower again. It sometimes sends up a long flower stalk with small white flowers just above the water surface.
Planting and care
Divide the plants and set them 2–4 cm apart. Thin runners and longer leaves to achieve the form you want, or move tall specimens to the background.
